See what our Work Experience students get up too...
This week we've had the pleasure of Gabrielle joining The Riverfront family. Gabrielle talks here about her week with us...
Hi, my name is Gabrielle Troshin and I'm from Bassaleg in Newport . I am 15 years old and I am currently a Year 10 student in Bassaleg Comprehensive. I am studying for my GCSE's, Drama, Art, History and French.
I came to The Riverfront because I thought it would be very interesting to know what work in a theatre such as The Riverfront would be like. Throughout this week I have been experiencing work in the box office, doing different types of jobs, I have been brochure packing, and I have also experienced work life inside the office, in which most of the marketing is done. I also was involved with ushering people to their show which was a classical opera show, called 'First Wednesday' it was a fun experience to be apart of. I was in charge of making sure that people got to their seats and that there was no problems along with other ushers, this was a lot of responsibility to have but I enjoyed the experience and the show. I am looking forward to the events coming up soon, such as the 'Big Splash' the fireworks and music all sound exciting and I'm looking forward to attending it, on the following weekend.
I loved the whole experience of The Riverfront, it was full of excitement, and not knowing what type of people would come in. There is always a different day.
Having my work experience here will benefit my future because I enjoyed working at The Riverfront, therefore this could affect my future as I may consider trying to get a job here when I am older.
I highly recommend other students my age to come to The Riverfront for work experience as it is really fun and interesting here, I've enjoyed it very much. Each day is a different experience.
