The landscape of Newport is rich and varied landscape ranging from the flat, drained farmland of the Gwent Levels along the Severn coast to the broad valleys of the rivers Usk and Rhymney, and the forest and rolling hills of Wentwood and Llanvaches.
The council aims to ensure that landscape quality is taken into account in the planning process.
